Rural Women’s Exercise

ABOUT US

Hi, I’m Mel

Your MumSafe™️ trainer here at Rural Women’s Exercise

Living in the bush, I found a love for exercise early in my motherhood years. Located remotely, with no physical connection with other Mums, sanity was found through exercise and in 2016 I decided to study personal training. After the birth of my 3rd child in 2018, I suffered pelvic floor dysfunction, more specifically; pelvic organ prolapse or POP. Recognizing a severe lack of education and support in the rural area, I set to work educating myself on post partum recovery. From that research, a passion was born to ensure no other rural woman has to experience what I did in my post-partum healing, hence Rural Women's Exercise was born. I went on to study Safe Return to Exercise in 2020 to become the go-to Mumsafe™️ trainer for all women living rurally. With continued education, I can support rural women to safely return to exercise, to have an awareness of their pelvic floor and core function and to feel confident within themselves. Being on the land I understand not only the physical requirements of the work women do out bush, but also the mental load we carry. The woman’s job can be incredibly exhausting, relentless and lonely. Hence why I have made RWE a place where women come to learn how to have strong, functional bodies so they can continue to do all they need to with confidence, but also to give them the connection and support they desperately need to be able to cope with all that is being a Rural Woman.
